THE FORGOTTEN SKETCHPAD

This year, Yasumicon is taking a greater interest in our Artist Alley. One reason is because as a convention, we want to encourage more local artists to showcase their work and get that exposure that they're looking for. It's also a way to bring out some of the unique flair of Miami. As a cultural hotspot, Miami is known for its diverse culture expressed through various forms of art. So this is a salute to our artists and hopefully our artists to come.

How does this work?

Simple. All you do is purchase an art table and go for the "complete package".

What will that "complete package" include?

Yasumicon will host a couple of samples of your work, whether it be an image, or a photo of a made product. If you'll be offering commissions or would like to point to your online store, we'll point to it too. We'll also provide a nice 8.5x11 display on your table to showcase your prices as well as any cards you may have. And yes, you can keep it. You paid for it didn't you?

We do have some restrictions, so pay attention. If you have mature work (i.e. hentai, yaoi, yuri, or anything that would make a very conservative parent blush, then go on a protesting rampage) on your art site, we ask that you create a warning page before granting access. Yasumicon, though willing to promote you, is still a family friendly event and we'd not like to scar minors so early in their mental development. You can snicker if you'd like, but it's true.

Will this really work?

We would hope so. Last year we had a great amount of traffic on our site and we had 2,700+ in attendance in last year's Yasumicon. Consider this is as an effort to help you get more as an artist from us. Plus if ever you wanted to put this on your list of shows that you'll be doing, it's cross promotion, which is only fair.
